A POLITICALLY CORRECT POLICE APPOINTMENT UNRAVELS

Driver has an interesting update about the police chief of the Australian State of Victoria -- a very large, self-acknowledged lesbian named Christine Nixon. Although it was of course denied, there is not much doubt that her appointment by the Leftist Victorian government was political -- intended to curry favour with women and gays. And she showed her own politics by promptly instituting affirmative action to favour female police officers. But everyone assured us at the time that Christine had every qualification to make a good police chief. A couple of years down the track the story looks a bit different.
